14 Commercial EPC Assessments

Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Service: Commercial EPC Portfolio Assessment
Property Type: Retail
Number of Units: 14

The Project

British EPC was instructed to undertake Commercial EPC assessments across 14 retail units at Springfields Outlet Centre in Spalding as the existing Energy Performance Certificates approached expiry.

For a multi-unit retail development, consistency and efficient coordination are particularly important. The assessments needed to be completed accurately while minimising disruption and providing the client with a clear picture of energy performance across the portfolio.

Our Approach

Each unit was assessed individually, taking account of its construction, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, lighting and other relevant building services.

British EPC coordinated the assessments as a single portfolio instruction, allowing the units to be surveyed and modelled efficiently while maintaining an individual EPC assessment for each property.

The Outcome

All 14 units achieved EPC ratings between B and C.

The project demonstrates the benefit of reviewing older commercial EPCs as they approach expiry, particularly where changes to the assessment methodology or improvements to individual units may affect their current rating.

For landlords, managing agents and property owners with multiple commercial units, British EPC can coordinate portfolio EPC programmes across individual properties, retail parks, shopping centres and commercial estates.

14 Units. One Coordinated Instruction. B–C EPC Ratings Achieved.
