Milton Hill House Abingdon
Commercial EPC | Hotel & Conference Venue | Historic Property
Set within 22 acres of Oxfordshire parkland, Milton Hill House is a distinctive hotel, conference and events venue near Abingdon, combining a historic Georgian manor house with extensive modern accommodation and leisure facilities.
The Project
British EPC was appointed to undertake the Commercial Energy Performance Certificate assessment for Milton Hill House, a substantial and diverse hospitality property incorporating hotel accommodation, meeting and conference facilities, restaurant and leisure areas.
The property presented an interesting assessment due to the combination of the historic manor house and later modern additions, together with the range of different uses and building services operating throughout the site.
The Assessment
British EPC carried out a detailed survey of the property, reviewing the construction and thermal characteristics of the building alongside its heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water and lighting systems.
Assessing a property of this nature requires an understanding of both traditional construction and modern commercial building services, ensuring that the different areas of the hotel and conference facilities are accurately represented within the final energy assessment.
The Outcome
British EPC successfully completed the Commercial EPC assessment and certification for Milton Hill House, providing a comprehensive assessment of this substantial Oxfordshire hospitality asset.
The project demonstrates our experience in assessing large hotels, historic properties and complex multi-use commercial buildings, where different periods of construction and a wide variety of building services must be considered as part of a single coordinated assessment.
